Jean-Claude GREGOIRE

Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB)

I am an agricultural scientist, forester and entomologist. I did my undergraduate studies at Faculté des Sciences agronomiques de Gembloux (Gembloux Agricultural College) and earned a PhD at Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), where I am currently a professor teaching entomology, biological control and integrated pest management to master students in agricultural engineering, and an introduction to agriculture to first-year students.

I have been deeply involved in the management of the Interfaculty School of Bioengineering at ULB. My own research and that of a part of my research group bear on insect ecology and biological control, mostly in forest environments, and the ecology and management of invasive exotic pests. I am a member of EFSA’s Plant Health Panel and have served on various other national and international boards. I am currently chairing GIRAF for a two-year term (2014-2015).
