Université de Liège (ULg)
After my Master in Sociology (UCL) I went to Brazil to attend a two years’ specialization course in sociology at Instituto Universitario de Pesquisas do Rio de Janeiro (IUPERJ). This academic career path developed my “sociological eye” for food systems. I started my professional life with Oxfam-Magasins du monde as Regional Coordinator and Political Campaigner. My duties entailed following major Southern themes such as the food supply chain, transition, migration, land grabbing, etc., and linking them to the North on a daily basis. Concurrently, I pursued an Executive Master in Public Management (Solvay Brussels School). This gave me the opportunity to acquire more comprehensive knowledge of analyzing and strategically developing citizens’ organizations.
In November 2012, a new challenge turned up in my career with the start of a PhD at the age of 33 at the SEED unit (Arlon). The subject of my PhD is the qualification of non-industrial seeds. Beyond this, I am involved in various social movements (Oxfam, Belgo-Brazilian Committee, MST, World Social Forum, etc.).
